Since the version 5.5 software packages were created between 2004 and 2006, they work best on systems from that era. Newer Operating Systems such as Windows 7 and Mac OS X 10.6 have some trouble using version 5.5. Macintosh systems which use Intel CPUs in particular do not work well because Witango 5.5 is a carbon application. In the case of Windows Vista and 7, it is necessary to run the installers in XP SP3 Compatibility Mode and some DLLs may need to be manually installed. If you are interested in using version 5.5, consider making use of older hardware or using virtualization technologies to use older Operating Systems on your computers.
